Chelsea News Update: Thomas tuchel to play Kai Havertz in unfamiliar position as false nine to help save his spiralling start to life in Chelsea

Tuchel gave a fascinating answer when he was asked where Kai Havertz best position is on the pitch.

The German footballer replaced Olivier Giroud in the 87th minute against Burnley, and that is his first for Chelsea since January 3. It has been a difficult start for Havertz in the Premier League.

The German attacker has fought with adjusting to England, being struck down by Coronavirus in November and an injury that has obstructed his progress under Thomas Tuchel.

Like forerunner Lampard, Tuchel has not been scared to defend Kai Havertz publicly. Tuchel has also shown how he can find the best spot for one his underperforming stars -Timo Werner.

Tuchel believes Havertz could function as a false nine for Chelsea if they need one.
Tuchel added ” He is a unique player”
“He’s very comfortable in high positions, he’s very good in offensive headers.”

Tuchel, like Frank Lampard has encouraged patience with Havertz
“Since I joined the blues, the only thing that kept him from making a big impression is his injury,” Tuchel said.

“I see a dedicated guy, I see a player who made a courageous decision to travel out at a young age and to leave his comfort zone and accept a big opposition in a big team, in the biggest league.

” I see a guy who is clearly aware of his talent, I’m convinced that he can play a big role in this club and he is totally determined to fulfill his role.” Tuchel added.
