Nigerian International Alex Iwobi on the Scoresheet as Everton Record Win Against Wolves

Everton have been impressive this season, showing that they are top contenders for the title.

On Tuesday night, they played against Wolves who have also shown resillience in recent times. Both team went head to head in a tough match, with Alex Iwobi scoring his first goal of the season, after sealing his name in the first eleven of Everton.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men scored as early as the sixth minute, through Alex Iwobi who put the ball in the back of the net from an assist by Lucas Digne.

Wolves showed that they did not come to play, as they wasted no time in levelling the game through Reuben Neves who shot in a flawless assist by Rayan Ait Nouri in the 14th minute. Both teams were back at square one and on the verge of taking home one point each.

Iwobi was on fire for Everton, as he tried to score just before the first half ended, but, he got his shot blocked. After both teams came back for the second half, Everton pressured more and they were rewarded after thirty-two minutes of play.

In the 77th minute of the match, Micheal Keane score the winner by making good use of Andre Gomes assist. The tough match ended 2-1 in favour of the Toffees.

Everton are currently sitting in fourth position with thirty-two points from seventeen matches, closely behind second placed Liverpool who are on thirty-three points.Alex Iwobi

They are also four points behind current leaders, Manchester United who have had thirty-six points from seventeen games. Carlo Ancelotti’s men have proven that they are strong contenders for the title and anything can happen.

Little wonder why Alex Iwobi has been impressive for Everton, but, failed to make an Impact for home country Nigeria who failed woefully in their first and second leg matches against Sierra Leone.
