Manchester City Gets A Solid Win Against Newcastle United

Saturday night, December 26 saw Pep Guardiola’s men go head to head against tough Newcastle United at Etihad.

As we all know, this Premier league season has been full of surprises, but, Manchester City got a we deserved win because they fought for it. The blues hosted their opponents at home, in front of their supporters and with the hope a getting a big win at Etihad.

Manchester City started the match on an impressive note pressuring and trying to create chances against Newcastle. An opportunity came when Raheem Sterling got a brilliant pass across to Kevin De Bruyne, but, the midfielder couldn’t find the back of the net. In tje 14th minute, Ilkay Gundogan opened the pathway for the blues as he scored the first goal from a beautiful Raheem Sterling’s assist.

Newcastle began pressuring, as they did everything they could and tried as mich as possible to see if they could find the back of the net. But, all their efforts were void, as they couldn’t put Newcastle back in the game.

The halftime ended 1-0 in favour of the blues, as they made it to their dressing room. In the second half, Ferran Torres scored the second goal for Manchester City to seal their well-fought win against Newcastle United.

Pep Guardiola is one of the best coaches in the world, as City has had quite a thrilling campaign this season. After having a successful four-year trophy stacked reign with Barcelona, Guardiola has also won trophies with City in the Premier leagie. The Blues want to make top four on the Premier league standings, so that they can secure their spot in the Champions league group stage for 2021/2022 season.

Meanwhile, Arsenal players would sleep well tonight after their emphatic comeback win against top rivals, Chelsea, as they won 3-1 at hone to secure a three points for the team.

Everton also recorded a really narrow 1-0 scoreline against Sheffield United, despite the odds. Congratulations to the teams that won on Saturday, 26th of December, 2020.
