Manchester City Destroys Crystal Palace to Move to Second on the Table as Liverpool Drop

Sunday, 17th of January hosted three Premier League thrillimg matches.

Tottenham went against Sheffield United to move to fourth on the table, Manchester United held Liverpool to a goalless draw to keep the gap at the top and Manchester City pummelled Crystal Palace to displace Liverpool from the second position, reducing the points behind League leaders to two.

The match was played at Etihad stadium and Manchester City win made them go unbeaten in nine of their last league matches.

They continued their impressive form after their last win against Brighton, taking the deserved lead in the 26th minute, when Stones fired home from a beautiful Kevin De Bruyne’s cross. Pep Guardiola’s men played good football from the start of the match till the end despite Sergio Kun Aguero absent.

City widened the scoreline in the early stages of the second half, when Gundogan curled the ball into the top corner, making it a double lead. In the 68th minute, Stones scored again, ramming the ball passed the goalkeeper to give City a super comfortable lead. There was nothing Crystal Palace could at this point to bring the game back.

Sterling finished the scoresheet with a graceful hit to seal the deal for Guardiola’s men and give them what they deserve.
They represented well and were rewarded by a move to second position with 35 points, two points league leaders, Manchester United.

Earlier, the Red Devils held bitter rivals and title defenders, Liverpool to a goalless draw, as no side was able to find the back of the net throughout ninety minutes, a vital point for United.
