Before the game, Mikel Arteta spoke to the media during his pre-match press conference video call and he gave the team injury boost and news update including the recent fitness of Rob Holding and Thomas Partey.

Thomas has experienced a terrible injury during his first year in England, his latest injury kept him out of Arsenal’s three games in all competitions.

It was previously thought that the second leg against Benefica may arrive sooner, however Thomas has started full training this week and Mikel Arteta said he is almost ready for action. He will be checked at training today and as long as he passes the training test, he’ll be seen for the Benifica clash tomorrow.

The update on Holding isn’t quite good as the centre back has been cancelled out of the Europa League second leg after a head injury during Arsenal’s defeat to Man city on Sunday.

Rob Holding took a knock on the head in the second half of the game and was substituted under the new substitution rules, which means the defender won’t be able to play against Benifica.
