13 Suspected Herdsmen With Guns Intercepted by Amotekun in Oyo State

The Southwest Security Outfits, popularly known as Amotekun, has arrested 13 suspected herdsmen with many degerous weapons with about 45 dogs in their possession.

The suspects confied to have come from Kebbi state and they claimed to be Fulani hunters.

The People of Nigeria Blog gathered that the 13 suspected herdsmen were arrested on tuesday evening on their way along Ido/Eruwa Road in Ibadan, Oyo State.13 Suspected Herdsmem

Our correspondent in oyo state reported that, the road is the major road that connect Ibarapa road which has been hijacked by kidnappers and killers, who have been killing and attacking innocent people by suspected herdsmen.

The suspects has been handed over to the Police in the state, as at the tome of thos report, while all item found on them as been taken over by the Police command in the state.

Our correspondent reported that the suspects were intercepted in a moving truck with registration number TUR 30 ZY Kebbi.

The 13 suspected herdsmen were arrested by officers of the Amotekun security outfits lead by Mr Gbenga Olanrewaju while on a routine patrol.

Col. Olayinka Olayanju (rtd) who’s the Amotekun Commandant in oyo State, also confirmed the arrest of the suspect.

The Commandant also added that the suspects are already in Police custody for further interrogation.

The People of Nigeria Blog confirmed the arest through Mr Olugbenga who is the Public Relation Officer of the state Police command

It was said that during the ongoing investigation, the suspects had claimed to be hunters from Kebi state.
